Hi everyone

I'm selling my Hang Drum!!!

It's an AKE BONO scale (Ding-G, C,D,Eb, G, Ab, C, D, Eb) first generation Hang drum.

I'm a percussionist and bought the hang a few years ago. It took me like 2 years of searching for this Hang scale and it was worth it... this scale is so unique

It wasn't easy, but I decide to sell it because i need the money for my new home studio...

Hi everyone

I am honored to have learnt from, played and adored the Hang since 2005. I am acutely aware that I am one of the lucky few... I would like every single person who may read these lines to please understand that I am dealing with a situation that demands I do what many would view as the unthinkable and many would view as a necessity: I am selling a first generation Hang, in the penta C scale, to the planet’s highest bidder.

This is no scam or eBay prank. I am a musician living in Africa. I was blessed to take ownership of five wonderful Hang’s (all penta C models) in early 2005. This was a unique and versatile addition to our performance. This was also before all the current “terms and conditions” governing the trade of this remarkable instrument, before the hype and opinion surrounding it’s passing from one human to another.

Current, critical economic conditions within the tourism sector in Southern Africa (where I employ percussionists and performers) have necessitated a look at a means in which to liquidise certain assets to best manage the huge downturn in revenue. This directly has consequence over the viability of our future. I make no excuses. I ask no forgiveness or pity. But be sure, we will continue to play our remaining Hanghang’s and spread the wonderful music that it helps us all to create…

I am, however, going to be honest. If anybody wants to look seriously at owning a Hang or knows of a serious buyer, I have a ballpark figure and I welcome the overwhelming response! It makes sense to me to hopefully find a new owner outside of the usual commercial channels. I have intentionally posted this onto several global Hang forums, using the same username. So lets chat. I have the material and the resources to verify all of the above.

Hang Price Bubble-Burst?

Has the over-inflated price of the hang bubble finally burst? There have been two hangs selling for $5000-$8000 on eBay within the last month or so. I think there are two hangs still available for $6500-$8000. In whatever currency one uses, US dollars, Euros or pounds, that is still a heck of a lot of money for a drum that originally sold for about 1/10th that amount. Has the frenzy subsided? There are probably many to still would love to have one, are attracted by the tones and the uniqueness of the design, but very likely cannot afford and wouldn't pay such a price. In my world, $5000-8000 buys a considerable amount: One year's rent with utilities, probably food (eating reasonably), an automobile, several high quality bicycles, many other beautiful musical instruments, sport equipment, clothes for many years wearing, and even an exotic vacation/holiday or two. There are two new drums being produced for next year, the Bell Art and the Halo drum, that look and sound (in my opinion) every bit as beautiful, mystical and ethereal as the Hang, and will be selling for about $1500 (my understanding). I wonder what that will do to the inflated Hang prices in 2010?

Hi!
I am looking and saving money for a hang already for three years! Since I ever first saw one, it touched me deeply. After some research on Hang a like drums, I came to the conclusion there is only one real Hang sound to me. I believe it has healing qualities and that is what I am going to use it for, especially with children.
Do I still make a chance? ;-)

Hi There....

Im a producer and player of music. And a lover of the Hang. Im currently looking for a Hang Drum. Ive been looking for some time now, but allas one still hasnt connected itself to me.
I fell in love with the Hang watching Manu Delago with Shpongle. My jaw dropped the floor, and ever since, it has been a long quest, and a distant love affair.
I know its a long shot, But if there is anybody out there considering selling their instrument, would you please consider contacting me? It will be loved, and looked after, discovered and enjoyed. I am very much in need of one. not only to make our next album with, but also for some healing of the soul.... :-)

Who sells a Hang ? I`m looking very seroius for a Hang. My son is working with mentally misbehaved kids and is building up up a group with music therapy. I think a Hang is the best instrument for that. And the second reason is...my son and me,we both like the wonderful sound of the Hang. I try to learn to play the Hang by myself. I am 53 y. old and had never played any instrument....but the Hang hits my soul.....:).. .Who sells a Hang ?.....please email me..We saw different Hang players on video..it was fantastic..my soul is lost to the Hang:)
