Topic: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Hi everyone

I am honored to have learnt from, played and adored the Hang since 2005. I am acutely aware that I am one of the lucky few... I would like every single person who may read these lines to please understand that I am dealing with a situation that demands I do what many would view as the unthinkable and many would view as a necessity: I am selling a first generation Hang, in the penta C scale, to the planet’s highest bidder.

This is no scam or eBay prank. I am a musician living in Africa. I was blessed to take ownership of five wonderful Hang’s (all penta C models) in early 2005. This was a unique and versatile addition to our performance. This was also before all the current “terms and conditions” governing the trade of this remarkable instrument, before the hype and opinion surrounding it’s passing from one human to another.

Current, critical economic conditions within the tourism sector in Southern Africa (where I employ percussionists and performers) have necessitated a look at a means in which to liquidise certain assets to best manage the huge downturn in revenue. This directly has consequence over the viability of our future. I make no excuses. I ask no forgiveness or pity. But be sure, we will continue to play our remaining Hanghang’s and spread the wonderful music that it helps us all to create…

I am, however, going to be honest. If anybody wants to look seriously at owning a Hang or knows of a serious buyer, I have a ballpark figure and I welcome the overwhelming response! It makes sense to me to hopefully find a new owner outside of the usual commercial channels. I have intentionally posted this onto several global Hang forums, using the same username. So lets chat. I have the material and the resources to verify all of the above.

Thank you.

EDIT FROM HANGFAN: Please be sure to use an ESCROW service for unsolicited adverts for a Hang such as this one or be sure you have absolute proof that you will receive the goods and the seller is genuine. The Hang is a fruitful target for scammers.

Hey ZimZam,

i am a very serious musician who has been searching for a hang for a long time now.
i was wondering what kind of figure you had in mind?
i can assure you that the hang would be going into great hands, and be played and performed with very frequently.

thanks!

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Hey there Zim Zam, I am writing to let you know of my interest in your hang drum(s), i have only recently discovered the beauty of there sounds while i was walking along the royal mile in Edinburgh and came across a hang player. Since then i have been trying to find out all i can about these instruments and hoew i could get a hold of one. I have been telling all my friends also about this instrument and how incredible it is. Then in one conversation with my friend Richard he was telling me how a drummer by the name of Rob we had both met whilst on a couple of month field course at Mankwe Game Reserve near the Pilansberg had said to him that he was getting a hang or had got a hang or something along those lines, just after we left which would fit pretty well with the time you say you recieved them, It seems to be quite a wierd coincedence if this is the case.
Whatever the case may be though whether we have met before or not i would still be very interested in buying one of your hanghang.
Cheers for your time

Daniel

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Can everyone please be wary of hang sales advertised in this fashion. The Hang arena has been hit by lots of scam artists, so be sure that you use an ESCROW service or receive absolute proof that you will receive the goods you are paying for.
Escrow is about 1% of the sale value but is well worth the price if you wish to be sure that you will get what you paid for.

www.escrow.com is the biggest and most well-known of the services.

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Hi All

Apologies for the delay in replying. I have been away. I agree with Torbz with regards the care needed these days over the purchase of a Hang. I can direct you to my personal Facebook pages as well as my company FB pages if you are interested and need verification. I am also happy to supply video/audio etc...I dont really want to sell one at all, however I have 5 and feel that two of them need new homes. So before I am labelled a heathen for going the eBay route. Lets try to find the right home...

Thanks
Rob

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Why don't you answer the questions that have been asked?  How much money do you want?

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

it suggests to me that the fact that they are still available means that they are in bad condition or totally overpriced - buyer beware.

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

Might it not be an idea...since you want to sell? to actually give everyone and idea of what sort of money your looking for so we don't waste time if it's out of our price range?

Also don't understand if your so eager to sell, why you keep disappearing and not answering questions?

Re: First Generation penta C #3835 for sale

I have a contact (much reviled by a few in the Hang community) who has a Hang for $5000 for sale.
I think it's too high a price personally - but someone may disagree.
If anyone is interested, you can mail me torbz@hangfan.co.uk
