Topic: hello

I just thought I'd post an intro up as I just joined. I have only just discovered the hang tonight via youtube and have spent the past few hours watching various vids of people playing the hang. Its such a wondeful sound. Though looks very complicated to play. I used to make very basic skin drums a few years ago but gave it up and havent played one since ( long story)

Ummm anyway, I'm Deb, in the UK and thats really all I can think of saying. I'm no good at intro's.

Its late here so I'm heading off to bed. smile

Re: hello

Just been infected. Caught myself tapping my hands on my legs as i was listening and even after, still couldn't help myself. Really need one of them thar things. What an absolutely amazing and beautiful creation it is. Part of me hopes they will become more readily available, but at the same time not. Very pleased though to see a community over it is growing so quickly. And so my hunt has begun. See ya in Switzerland....... or youtube, which ever comes first.     Shine On!

Re: hello

It's a tough situation you (and hundreds of others) are in.

There are no easy solutions.  Buying a hang 2nd hand is difficult in these times, many profit takers, and so many more infected with the HangVirus that the prices are difficult.  Also the makers are upset about the situation and have chosen to reject tuning requests from those that participate (as buyer or seller) in the high prices that have been showing up on ebay.

Good luck to you on your journey, and enjoy the wonder that the delicate sonic sculpture you have holds in store for you.

Re: hello

Hey Seabreeze and welcome to the forum... don't feel guilty about buying a 2nd hand Hang, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get something you want, its not your fault either that people out there stick their Hang on ebay at ridiculous starting prices but thats the way of the world unfortunately.

You should be glad that you now own one... I can't imagine having waited 1 year for a reply from PANart.... its no wonder people lose faith and turn to the auctions for buying a Hang.

Your Hang will bring you many hours of pleasure that is for sure and never rule out a retune by PANart... you may never need a retune either, these things are pretty durable when played and looked after correctly.

Welcome to Hang Ownership and never feel guilty, you did nothing wrong but buy something you really wanted and had the opportunity to get hold of.
