Topic: Forum Rules and Introduction

Hullo...welcome to the nice new spanky forum at hangfan.co.uk

It's got a few funky bits and bobs - like video embedding and spam security, which should make things a little more fun. There'll be more to come too in the future.

My motivations are simple - to create a really useful resource for professional and amateur Hang players, and those not yet fortunate enough to own one.

FORUM RULES

If you are joining to sell a hang, see this post

Otherwise, this forum is mostly unmoderated, you may not spam, be nasty, spout hatred or anything else considered personally damaging to other users on the forum. If someone complains about what you've said about them, I'll probably remove it.

This is not a democracy - it's egocentric anarchy - though we're working on it. Welcome to the fray.

Re: Forum Rules and Introduction

Nice one Torbz! Were off to Bern in Oct 07 to get our Hangs big_smile lookin forward to life with a Hang big_smile

Re: Forum Rules and Introduction

Ahhhh! You lucky buggers! Bloody good for you I say!
Would you do me a little favour if you get a chance and take a photo of the big prototype Hang that sits in the Hang house, I want to add it to the history page on the site as the precursor. Also, if you can glean a little history of its design and why it didn't work (size? shape? integrity etc.) that would be really cool.

And, if there's another Hang available - CALL ME!!!

Safe trip and blessgins m8,

Torbz

Re: Forum Rules and Introduction

Welcome Dennis and Hang-vibes out to Michigan!
The forum is still 'in consturction' in as much as there's lots of fun and interesting content still to come.
Some of interest to non-Hang owners too.

I like to try and satiate people's hunger one way or another, be it with stories, experiences or music to listen to and tips and advice.

It's great that you've got the propane tank drum too - a great improvisation of metal work - I should have a Hang-ish instrument section, to see all the wonderful possibilities out there. If you airbrushed it, that would look so very cool!

Anyway, welcome again to Hangfan and look forward to chatting more with you,

Torbz

Yes I will Torbz - get all I can! and pass it on to you.

Can you recommend any places we should go whilst we are there? we will be in Bern for 4 days with them - then 3 more days any where we want - wandered if there were any special Hang spots to go and play, cafe, mountains, anywhere!

Plus in their letter to me they stated " we are only willing to give the Hang into hands that realize that Hang music can touch deep layers of the human soul" may be that is a good message to spread out?

With so many people so desperate to get a Hang - we both feel so priveledged and humbeled to have been invited this year. With great respect and honor we are looking forward to creating hang music and touching many lives with healing.

Re: Forum Rules and Introduction

If you want to do a kind of photoblog, I don't mind hosting your experinces on your trip as part of Hangfan.
I can create subdomains at Hangfan quite easily where you can have a whole website about your trip if you wanted.
So, you could have anythingyoulike.hangfan.co.uk, like rhythm.hangfan.co.uk as a web address.
What do you reckon?? I'll help you set it up if you're like.
