Topic: HangOut UK 2008 tickets now on sale

Hi all,

Tickets will be on sale from Thursday 28th February for this years HangOut Uk at Mellow Farm.

Please visit the website for a booking form and details on this years event www.hangoutuk.co.uk

Anyone interested in performing or running workshops please let us know so we can arrange details on the website including any links to your websites.

Tickets at this time will be limited to just 50 people so book early to avoid dissapointment.

I know there was talk of a meal being cooked on the Friday night, I do not think this is going to be possible due to time constraints and equipment restrictions at Mellow Farm. You can by all means use the kitchen facilities that are at the farm and breakfasts of cereal and toast will be available on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings.

Tea and coffee will run freely all weekend so help yourselves.

Any questions, ask away smile

Thanks

Kelly

Re: HangOut UK 2008 tickets now on sale

HangOut UK is proud to announce that Davide Swarup and the Hang Project will be performing at this years event.

Davide was born in Italy way back in 1974 growing up in the small village of Capena. He has always had a passion for music from an early age, playing in an "Iron Maiden" cover band and experimenting with various instruments from around the world.

Davide arrived in Holland's Amsterdam in 2004 and as a street musician he found the instrument that would change the path of his music and indeed his life forever, the Hang.

Since discovering the Hang Davide now resides in Amsterdam and can be found performing all over the city from Coffee shops to clubs and of course busking on the streets.

In March 2007 with the support of Indie record label Samekh Records Davide recorded his first mainstream Hang CD "Music for Hang".

Already a hit amongst the Hang community the CD is a window into the soul of this artist, you can really feel the passion Davide has for the Hang and for music.

You can obtain a copy of Davide's CD "Music for the Hang" at Davide's website www.davideswarup.com or better still why not come and see him perform live at this years HangOut UK where copies of his CD will also be available.

The Hang Project will also be performing at this year’s event.

Residing in the borough of St Helens in Merseyside UK, the Hang Project are a three piece band consisting of band members Colin Dunn, Kev Edwards and Tom McGrath.

The band formed in 2007 and after lots of experimentation they have developed their own style of playing Hang accompanied with the big beats of the Cajon, stopping bass lines with a splash of Guitar and accompanying vocals.

A band not to be missed check out their music and profile at www.myspace.com/thehangproject

Tickets for HangOut UK are on sale now and at only £20 for the weekend can you afford to miss it!

See website for the latest information on performers, workshops and the weekend

See you there,

Re: HangOut UK 2008 tickets now on sale

Hi Hang folk of the world,

As we fast approach May we would like to give you all a quick update as to where we are with the HangOut for 2008.

Some poeple have been asking if this is a festival, and if so why limit it to only 50 people.

We are currently limited to 50 people, although there is some buffer on that of a possible 10 or so more tickets should we need to extend it.

It's the venue that currently limits us to 50 people. We hire one of the many outbuildings from the owner of Mellow farm, the Chicken shed, and it can hold up to 80 people, but it would be a bit of a squash and a squeeze. So its mainly for comfort of attendees that we limit to 50 people.

As time goes on and hopefully the event grows in demand we will look to hire the larger barn on the site, as well as the existing chicken shed and expand the event to cater for up to 300 people.

As for this event being a festival, we prefer an education in music. Many people coming to the event have only ever seen a Hang on the street or on You Tube, they've never actually been able to get up close to one. So for them its an education on the Hang itself and what music you can make with it.

For those who own a Hang already then it's the prefect place to come and meet likeminded Hang owners and a chance to see how the Hang can be played with other instruments... or even how 2 0r 3 Hang sound together when played.

The HangOut is not only for the Hang either, we welcome all instruments to the event, its a time for people to learn how to jam with the Hang... with guitar, Didjeridu, Saxaphone or even the triangle!

Ultimately since the stopping of the HangOut at the Hanghaus in Bern every year, we want to bring Hang owners from across the globe together to celebrate this wonderful instrument.

The HangOut is a completely non profit event, all money you pay goes back into the event in the hope of growing it year on year.

Just short of half the tickets are still available for the event, so please do book early to avoid dissapointment.

booking details and more info on the venue can be found here

Thanks

Re: HangOut UK 2008 tickets now on sale

It is with a heavy heart and a sad face sad that we have to announce that the Hang Project will no longer be able to perform at this years event..... unfortunately due to personal circumstances one of the band members will not be able to make it, believe me they are as gutted as we are.

Once we figure out how to change the website we'll make some new updates on the event...  unfortunately our web bloke left us for pastures new and a world away from the internet and modern day life so we're kind of stuck with a website we can't update at the moment... but we're hopeful on sorting that soon LOL smile

The event isn't just about the performances anyway... it's open mic and a weekend for meeting other Hang players and just jamming really... so the fun will carry on!

Re: HangOut UK 2008 tickets now on sale

Hi all,

Just to let you all know that we now have some caterers coming to the HangOut to provide lunch and evening meals for everyone.

It's likely to cost £2 for the lunch which is probably going to be a baguette with some wondeful filling and the evening meal is likely to cost arond £3 and will be some kind of curry or chilli.

Both will be Veggie friendly as well, so to summarise:

Friday night = Evening meal available for £3, save cooking after a long journey.

Saturday morning = Breakfast included in your ticket price
Saturday lunch = Sandwiches available for £2
Saturday evening = Evening meal available for £3

Sunday will be the same.

So this should save a lot of hassle of worrying about cooking

Don't forget to book early now, to avoid dissapointment... we still have tickets available and we've booked some sunshine for the weekend too
